Today marked the end of the Finis Lap Tracker giveaway. Entries were entered in order of posting and a random number generator was used to select the winner:
Tri-James from PowerMultisport.com
James took advantage of the five-entries-for-donating-to-Japan rule, which was really the point of the giveaway, so statistics and karma were on his side! Congrats James, enjoy not having to count those laps.
In other news:
There are less than three weeks until NOLA 70.3. I feel more prepared than I did last year, but still not "race ready." It's easy to view the 70.3 with less reverence because I am doing IM FL later this year - but would like to give it my money's worth. In the end, if I can PR I'll be happy.
Speaking of IM FL...I am still debating about the feasibility of using CFE for preparing for such a long race. Not as a shortcut by any means, but simply for the strength and (as I see it) health benefits that come from that type of training. Right now I am leaning towards a hybrid version - with some long stuff to appease the aerobic base theory and CF stuff to maintain strength and speed. We'll see after the 70.3.
Speaking of Crossfit...I am currently in Mobile, Alalbama for a week of refresher flight training. The added benefit to the annual helicopter camp is that the base here in Mobile is equipped with its own Crossfit gym. I'm like a kid in a candy store.
That's all I've got. Have a great week.
Your tagline is: "if its not fun, you're not doing it right." I would argue that Crossfit doesn't fit that, but thats just me :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the cool Finis Lap Tracker but even more so for encouraging me to do more. You made me better.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Tri-James!
ReplyDeleteJames, the pleasure is all mine.
ReplyDeleteDanny, Though you apparently prefer a different flavor of masochism than i...i can tell by your comment that you have given crossfitting a shot...
